Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George has revealed that Victor Osimhen has yet to apologize following his viral social media outburst in June. Finidi, now the coach of Rivers United, explained that he reached out to Osimhen to clear up the situation but did not receive a response.

Finidi shared that he had sent Osimhen a message, advising that the social media incident was not the best way to handle things. I sent him a message that it was not the best way, just someone telling you that coach said that, and youre talking about me like I said it in an interview, Finidi said. He added that after sending the message, he didnt hear back from the forward and has since moved on.

Osimhens quick return to form with the Super Eagles also indicates that the situation has not affected his performance on the field. His goal in the AFCON qualifier against Benin shows that he remains a key asset for Nigeria, and Finidis decision to let the matter rest seems to be the right one for the teams future.

As Nigeria continues its AFCON qualifying campaign, players like Osimhen must be able to focus on their performances rather than off field distractions. Finidis handling of the issue sets a positive example of how such situations can be dealt with effectively.
